This course is most suited to individuals who are at least 16 years old, have a high school education and wish to progress onto a degree at university, or the Undergraduate Level 4/5 Extended Diploma in Management with COTHM Online.

Level 4 module listing

1. Introduction to computing: Learners will understand basic computer functions, design, daily maintenance and configuration.

2. Introduction to programming: In this module, learners will be able to understand OOS basics and usage of programming in broader areas.

1. Introduction to databases: Learners will understand database designing, their development and will be able to explore ways to meet customer requirements.
2. Requirements engineering: Learners will carry out IT analysis in this module and will also be able to meet computing requirements in terms of development of specifications and test prototypes.
3. Systems analysis and design: IS concepts and their relation with an organizational need in terms of business-related processes and information transformation will be understood by learners in this module.
4. E- Commerce applications: Learners will understand the e-commerce role in the identification of business objectives identification and they will be able to identify issues related to its design
5. Human computer interaction: Learners will understand how human and computer interaction is carried out, for which they will study different related models and principles. They will learn to examine HCI principles and design and will be able to use them in planning a user interface prototype. 
6. IT and society: Learners will be taught about the impact of technology on a society and they will further examine related changes and trends. They will also identify managerial challenges and expected conflicts of data management and security.
7. Information systems project management: In this module, learners will learn to develop and implement successful IT projects with the help of project management and its principles.
8. Management information systems: This module will enable learners to understand the importance of information systems in terms of providing support in fulfilling business needs related to the processing of data and information.

Level 5 module listing

1. Technopreneurship: Learners will develop skills of developing a techno business and will be able to understand its characteristics (marketing, entrepreneur and finance etc).
2. Network security: This module will teach learners to identity network environment issues and environment itself. They will also learn to prevent the environment from related challenges.
3. C#.NET Programming: Learners will learn to use C# in this course and will be able to understand the idea of ASP.NET programming and its principles. The outcome of their learning will be the ability of developing dynamic web page with the help of learnt techniques.
4. System Administration: Administration of Linux and Windows system will be taught in this module. Different related areas will be covered in this module, few of them are,

• Policies (group and back up)
• Task automation

1. Network Routing and Switching: This module will focus on two basic areas, 1) network routing and 2) switching. They will be able to develop skills which are needed to perform these major functions.

• Identification of issues related to network performance
• Hieratical network design
• Inter-connecting a network effectively

Written assignments
