This course is most suited to individuals who are at least 16 years old, have a high school education and wish to progress onto a degree at university, or the Undergraduate Level 4/5 Extended Diploma in Management with COTHM Online.

Level 4 module listing

1. Introduction to computing: In this module learners will study computing system functions and design basics, routine maintenance and their configuration.
2. Introduction to programming: In this module, learners will study about OOS basics. They will also explore that how applications usage can be seen from a broader perspective.
3. Introduction to databases: Database design will be understood under this module. Students will be able to design and develop database from customers perspective.
4. Requirements engineering: IT analysis will be analyzed in this module and computing requirements will be identified in order to develop test prototypes and related specifications.
5. Systems analysis and design: Learners will be introduced with IS Concepts and their relation with business procedures and information transformation.
6. E- Commerce applications: Ecommerce importance will be analyzed in modern world context to identify organizational aims and design issues which arise from its requirements definition.
7. Human computer interaction: Students will be able to understand computer and human interaction models and principles. They will evaluate the current HCI principles and design in order to use them to plan a multimedia user interface prototype.
8. IT and society: Technology impact on society, related trends and changes will be examined in this module. Moreover, expected conflicts and related issues will also be analyzed in the context of data management and security.
9. Information systems project management: Learners will explore project management elements and their role in the development and successful execution of particular IT projects.
10. Management information systems: Learners will understand information systems concept and their support in meeting business needs. They will be provided with understanding related to data processing and information processing.

Level 5 module listing

1. Technopreneurship: This module will enable learners of introducing a techno business. They will also learn about entrepreneurs’ characteristics, finance, planning and marketing.
2. Network security: This module will introduce leaners with issues related to network security of a networked environment. Learners will be able to deal with these issues in terms of processes and any other common expected risks.
3. C#.NET Programming: Learners will understand the ACP.NET programming prime principles and concepts using C#. They will also be able to develop web pages with the help of programming methods.
4. System Administration: Learners will be able to control Linux and Windows system. This module will cover different areas including, the management of group, user, file system and others related areas and functions.
5. Content Management Systems: This module will develop ability in learners to develop digital content by using CMS (Content Management Systems) tool. After completion of this module, learners will be able to understand the roles of CMS, modelling of content, aggregation of content, migration of content and publication management.
6. Web Design: Learners will understand client-side programming and creation of web pages with the help of tools like, Abobe Dreamweaver and Java Script language. Learners will be able to develop user friendly website and it will be carried out by developing dynamic web pages with the help of dynamic navigation, validation and other related process.

Written assignments

On completion of the modules, students will be given access to the assignments. The assignments are approximately 5,000-8,000 words each. Students are provided support on the modules and assignments via the ‘Tutor’ section of the learning platform.
